Itinerary
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Ben Tre
8:00 Pick up at your hotel in Saigon and drive to Ben Tre. We will visit some local workshops. First is a rice paper cake workshop and see how they were made by hand, then a brick kiln.
Next, take a boat to visit the coconut candy workshop. Here, see manufacturing process of making coconut candies - specialty of this coconut land. It is very interesting to watch the local men peeling coconuts by hand. Friendly locals will invite you to try some delicious coconut candies. Continue cruising on the river for relax tension, see daily activities by the riverside to see how local people’s fishing on the Ba Lai River.
Stop to enjoy the lunch with featured dishes of delta region at the garden of Mr. 10 Ưa (Thuy Uyen restaurant).
In the afternoon, take a ride on local vehicle called "xe loi" on the village roads through the green coconut forest and cocoa garden to visit grapefruit and coconut gardens. Spend time in the gardens, pick and enjoy fresh coconut water. Take crowing-boat along meandering canal under the shade of palm trees on the shore. Continue to visit a milpa and feel the daily life of the people. You can try hands on picking grass, fertilizing with the local farmers. On the way you can take a rest at local home to see the local people makes sugar cane juice – you can do it yourself. Late afternoon, transfer to hotel in Can Tho for overnight.
