Itinerary
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh Arrival
Upon your arrival in the bustling Ho Chi Minh City, still called “Saigon” by many locals, your guide will welcomed you at the airport and then transfer you to your hotel for check –in. Your room is at disposal from 14:00. Rest of the day, you can enjoy free time to relax or explore the city, wander the streets, enjoy street food or visit local market.
Optional: We introduce the one-of-a-kind traditional performance which are found nowhere else than in Vietnam: Water Puppet Show where puppets are performed on water stage with folk music, presenting ancient tales, folklore and daily life in Vietnamese countryside.

Activities: Welcome to Vietnam! On arrival at the airport in Ho Chi Minh, pick up and transfer to hotel in city center. Relax and enjoy your free time.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Half day
Get ready for a day discover the city. Ho Chi Minh City – former name Saigon is Vietnam’s largest city. Saigon is a fast paced city with a unique mix of French colonial architecture, Chinese influences, a modern entrepreneurial spirit and numerous temples. During 300 years history, under the name of Saigon, it was the capital of French colony of Indochina and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam. After the war, this city was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City after President Ho Chi Minh. Today, Ho Chi Minh City is a modern developing urban but still remain its connection with the past. Not so hard to find an ancient pagoda or a building with French elements.
In the morning, pick up at hotel. Start with The Reunification Palace, used to be residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. In 30 April 1975, the when North Vietnam soldier set foot inside this building with red flag on hand, the whole world knew that Vietnam war was end. Next stop is War Remnants Museum, on the way stop to visit Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, 2 most famous and oldest of classical French colonial architecture construction was built more than 100 years ago. War Remnants Museum with many photographs are from both Vietnam and US sources; US military vehicle like tanks, jet, booms display outside.
Tour ending around noon. After that Free on your own.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh – Cao Dai Temple – Cu Chi Tunnels – Ho Chi Minh
In the morning, driver and tour guide pick you up at your hotel then head to Tay Ninh Province. After 2 hours, arrive in Tay Ninh, visit Cao Dai temple - the sacred temple of Caodaism - Vietnam's own religion incorporated aspect of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and even Catholicism. You have a chance to understand more about Vietnamese religion.
Mid day, have lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, leave Tay Ninh and travel to Cu Chi. Watch a short video introducing about soldiers’ lives during wartime and take a look at the system of the underground tunnels, where supplies were transported, the injured was treated and people were living during some of the most strategic operations in the war.
After visiting Cu Chi tunnels, drive back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be – Bassac Cruise
Transfer from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh to Cai Be. Board at Bassac Cruise at noon. Enjoy welcome drink, Introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabin.
Have lunch while cruising towards Cho Lach in Tien Giang. The Bassac slips into the Chợ Lách canal, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the river traffic, between markets and churches, a unique opportunity for a glimpse of the very varied life on the banks as well as on the water. Visit of a village on the banks of Mang Thit river , an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby.
Back on board, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river. The Bassac sets anchor just downstream from the little Tra On floating market, for the night.

Activities: From Ho Chi Minh we drive to Cai Be where we board our boat to venture into the green, watery world of the Mekong Delta and in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the river traffic.
Day 5: Cai Be – Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market
You may get up for breakfast as early as 06:30, as the ship is resuming its cruise the Tra On floating market. The ship then departs towards Can Tho.
Arrival in Cai Rang floating market, transfer onto a local boat to visit the floating market, the nearby arroyos and gardens and return to the Ninh Kieu pier by mid-morning.
Boarding at Can Tho at Ninh Kieu pier. Welcome drink, departure downstream of the Hau river. Lunch on board while en route.
Tour near Cai Rang Floating market.
Turning into Nicolai canal, towards the Mang Thit River and Co Chien rivers. Rest on the upper deck in a scenery of rice fields, sugar cane, woods on the near banks.
By mid-afternoon, the Bassac casts anchor for a visit on shore: past the first tree line, quiet discovery of the peaceful life in the delta's countryside, of rice fields, fruit trees and the welcoming inhabitants.
Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck or around the bar enjoying the sunset.
The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river towards her anchorage point for the night.

Arrival in Cai Rang Floating Market, transfer onto a local boat to visit the floating market, the nearby arroyos and gardens and return to the Ninh Kieu pier by mid-morning.

Departure towards Cai Be. The passengers take their breakfast while enjoying the scenery on the banks. The Bassac crosses Co Chien river then branches into Cho Lach for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. Arrival in Cai Be, check-out and board of a smaller boat for a tour of Cai Be floating market and local handicraft workshops. After touring Cai Be market, disembark and transfer to Ho Chi Minh.
